AI technology is moving fast

Automatic translation and education constitutes a question where the speed at which technology is moving makes analysis difficult: research which is more than 5 years old will be analysing the impact of a technology which no longer exists. It may insist on the fact that Automatic translation tools don’t work, reporting examples of malfunction which are no longer valid. This could be the case tomorrow with other fields in which artificial intelligence becomes an actor.

This has various consequences:
1.    Research is going to be difficult: research needs tu build upon previous work and avoid rediscovering realities. But in this case, the giants shoulders upon which one would wish to build can quickly become obsolete
2.    Teachers will need to find ways to stay informed: the non linear progress of these technologies will be difficult to follow. Tools allowing to help teachers with this technology watch (rather than relying on social networks) should be envisaged.
