AI für Lehrer: Ein OpenTextbook

Some automatic translation vocabulary

A number of technical terms have to be used in this chapter. We do have an AI Speak page giving details and a history of the field.
From a broader perspective, automatic translation tools are accessible online and can be used in many ways:Automatic transcription also makes use of artificial intelligence: it consists of transforming a voice input into a text output. It can be done offline from videos or audio recordings or online: some video conference platforms allow, in this way, to obtain subtitles which can be used for accessibility and/or to understand speech from another language.
Voice synthesis techniques will take some text and a voice model to speak the text using that voice. Voice model can be standard or can also be trained to correspond to real people!
Text generation tools are used to generate new text through artificial intelligence: this new text can be based on existing text (for example, abstracts, simplifications, reformulations can be built) or  based on conversational models, where the AI will be prompted on a topic.

All these techniques can be used separately or be combined to propose seamless multilingual conversations.
